Rincón sits on the western tip of Puerto Rico, three hours by car from San Juan, and functions as the island's destination surf town. December through February is the marquee season when Atlantic swell wraps around the corner — Domes, Sandy Beach, Maria's, and Steps draw a regular surf community in the cold months and a lighter beach crowd through summer. The town tilts toward independent rentals and small inns rather than resort-scale hotels. Rincón itself doesn't host JRCM-licensed dispensaries; the closest cluster is in Mayagüez (25 min south) or Aguadilla (25 min north), and the supply pattern is one stock-up trip on arrival rather than daily runs. For adults 21+ on a temporary patient registration, Rincón works for the cannabis-aware long weekend if the rental host has confirmed indoor consumption is permitted (the surf-camp scene is generally more permissive than the boutique inn scene).
