Tetra dispensary searches come from all over Puerto Rico, which makes sense: Tetra is one of the island's widest medical cannabis chains. Its own store directory lists 17 locations, from Añasco on the west coast to Humacao and Fajardo on the east, with most of them packed into metropolitan San Juan. Every one of them sells only to authorized medical patients, adults 21+ in nearly every case, because Puerto Rico's program is medical-only. Here is where the stores are and what a registered or visiting patient needs before walking in.
Who runs Tetra
Tetra is a division of PRICH Biotech Corp., and that corporate name, not the brand, is what appears on the Department of Health's licensing records. The Junta Reglamentadora del Cannabis Medicinal's directory of licensed establishments, dated October 2026, lists PRICH Biotech's dispensary licenses at each of the addresses below, along with its cultivation and manufacturing licenses in Barrio Mariana, Humacao. Sign on the door and name on the license often differ on the island; the directory at salud.pr.gov/CMS/364 is the way to match them.

Tetra lists its customer service line as (787) 296-9672, ext. 2769. Store hours vary, and a call before a long drive is the reliable way to confirm a location is open and stocked. The dispensary directory has every licensed location around each of these towns, and the Carolina, Bayamón and Humacao town hubs gather local pages.
Who can buy
Registered Puerto Rico patients. The JRCM issues patient identification after a recommendation from an authorized physician. Adult applicants must be 21 or older or legally emancipated.
Patients from other US states. Ley 42-2017 includes residents of other states who hold an identification issued by their home state in its definition of patient, and the JRCM recognizes them when they meet Reglamento 9038. Dispensaries usually ask for a photo card and generally will not sell flower on an out-of-state card, so expect vape, tincture, capsule, edible and topical options instead.
Visitors with no usable card can look into a temporary Puerto Rico registration through a certifying clinic. Its length, fee and turnaround are not spelled out in published regulation; confirm all three with the clinic before paying.
The rule, plainly
- No smoking, anywhere. Ley 42-2017 prohibits consuming cannabis by smoking, for every patient, resident or visitor.
- No public use. The statute prohibits medical use in public places. Beaches, plazas, parking lots and the walk from the store to the car are all public.
- Not at the store, not at events. Use is barred at dispensaries and other licensed facilities, in so-called vape lounges, and at public or private events.
- No sharing. Reglamento 9038 prohibits giving, trading or transferring medical cannabis to anyone else, including a travel companion who is also a patient. Each patient buys for themselves.
- Not on federal property, and not off the island. The regulation prohibits use on US government property and prohibits carrying medical cannabis to the mainland or any other jurisdiction, even one where it is legal.
- Not behind the wheel. Driving a car, boat or aircraft under the influence of medical cannabis is illegal.
Edibles follow the familiar rule: start low, go slow, and keep a first serving at 10 mg or less.
What it means for your visit: a Tetra purchase belongs to one registered patient, and every rule above travels with the bag.
Before you go
- Bring the card you plan to buy on and a government photo ID with the same name.
- With an out-of-state card, call the store first and ask what it can sell on that card.
- Keep the receipt and the sealed package together.
- Nothing bought on the island goes in a suitcase to the mainland.
- Check the events calendar for festival dates, and remember the event ban applies at all of them.
