WeedCo is one of the names Puerto Rico patients search most, and the south coast is where a lot of that search lands. The company's own site lists 11 dispensaries around the island, and three of them sit on the Caribbean side: Ponce, Santa Isabel and Yauco. Add Sinsemilla's stores in Coamo and Juana Díaz and the south coast has a working map for registered patients and qualifying visitors, adults 21+ in nearly every case. Puerto Rico's program is medical-only, so the map comes with rules that do not bend for anyone.
Where WeedCo's south-coast stores are
The Department of Health's October 2026 directory of licensed establishments lists these WeedCo locations under the company's corporate licensee name, which is normal on the island: the sign on the door and the name on the license often differ.
- Ponce. In Plaza San Cristóbal shopping center on Carr. 506 in Coto Laurel, on the east side of the city.
- Santa Isabel. On Carr. 153 in Barrio Jauca.
- Yauco. On Carr. 121 in Barrio Susúa Baja.
WeedCo's site also lists stores in Guayama and Cayey, farther east. Its call center runs Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., per the site; store hours vary, so a call ahead saves a drive.
Sinsemilla in Coamo and Juana Díaz
The same directory lists Sinsemilla dispensaries in the Coamo Plaza Shopping Center on Carr. 153 and in Juana Díaz near the Amuelas industrial park on Carr. 584. Coamo, about 20 miles east of Ponce, is known for Los Baños de Coamo, thermal springs that drew visitors long before the Spanish arrived. Juana Díaz sits between Ponce and Coamo.
For every other licensed location along the coast, the dispensary directory has the full list, and the Ponce town hub and Yauco town hub gather local pages.
The towns, briefly
Ponce is the south coast's anchor city. Its central square, Plaza Las Delicias, holds the Parque de Bombas, a red-and-black pavilion built for an 1882 exhibition that became Puerto Rico's first fire station and is now a museum.
Yauco goes by El Pueblo del Café, a nod to the coffee plantations that put the town's beans on European tables in the 1800s.
Santa Isabel sits on the coast south of Coamo, and Carr. 153 links the two.
Who can buy
Registered Puerto Rico patients. The Junta Reglamentadora del Cannabis Medicinal issues patient identification after a recommendation from an authorized physician. Adult applicants must be 21 or older or legally emancipated.
Patients from other US states. Ley 42-2017 counts residents of other states who hold a medical cannabis card from their home state as patients, and the JRCM recognizes them when they meet Reglamento 9038. Dispensaries usually want to see a photo card, and they generally will not sell flower on an out-of-state card, so expect vape, tincture, capsule, edible and topical options.
Visitors without a usable card can look into a temporary Puerto Rico registration through a certifying clinic. Its length, fee and turnaround are not set out in published regulation; confirm all three with the clinic before paying. The JRCM's official page is at salud.pr.gov/CMS/364.
The rules, plainly
- No smoking, anywhere. Ley 42-2017 bans smoking cannabis outright, for registered patients and visitors alike. Vaporizing is the inhaled method the law allows.
- No public use. The statute limits medical use to homes and private places and prohibits it in public. Beaches, plazas and the streets around Plaza Las Delicias are all public.
- Not at the dispensary, not at events. Use is barred on licensed premises and at public or private events.
- No sharing, ever. Reglamento 9038 prohibits transferring cannabis to anyone, including a spouse, a friend or a travel companion who is also a patient. Each patient buys for themselves.
- Not on federal property, and not off the island. Reglamento 9038 prohibits use on US government property and prohibits taking medical cannabis from Puerto Rico to any other jurisdiction.
- Not behind the wheel. Driving, boating or flying under the influence of medical cannabis is illegal. The PR-52 and PR-2 run fast between these towns.
Edibles follow the usual rule: start low, go slow, and keep a first serving at 10 mg or less.
Before you drive the coast
- Bring the card you plan to buy on plus a government photo ID with the same name.
- Call ahead with an out-of-state card and ask what the store will sell on it.
- Check the events hub for festival dates, and remember the statute rules out consumption at every one of them.
