Isabela

North-coast surf town with cliff-and-cove coastline, Survival Beach, and a quieter alternative to Rincón.

Isabela sits on Puerto Rico's north coast between Aguadilla and the dramatic Camuy karst landscape further east. The coastline here runs more cliff-and-cove than the developed beach-resort corridor of Rincón south — Survival Beach (Playa Peñón Brusi) is the marquee hidden-beach hike, Playa Jobos carries the surf-break crowd, and the surrounding cliffs create the kind of ocean-view rentals that pull the longer-stay visitors. December through March is the main surf season, mirroring Rincón's. JRCM-licensed retail in Isabela is thin; Aguadilla 15 minutes west holds the closest supply. For adults 21+ on a JRCM temporary patient registration, Isabela works as a quieter-than-Rincón surf-and-beach base for the cannabis-aware long weekend, with the cliff-and-cove rhythm as the main feature and the Aguadilla supply stop on arrival.
