Looking for my Puerto Rican Family

After he passed I met his mother side of the family, but I never met or saw a picture of his father, he was puerto rican living in detroit at the time my dad was born, which was 1942. I'm brown skin, but my dad is lightskin I never knew he was puerto rican, until after his passing my mom told me, which was a shock to me O_o because I seriously didn't know, Me and dad share the same last name as his father, which surprisingly is a Irish last name. I tried to search for Puerto Ricans with the Irish last name we have, but nothing have came up, yet. I'm making this post, because I don't know where to go from here. I'm thinking just start learning about the culture and go from there.
